2009 Silo Dance and Dinner Series
The Silo Dance Series at Kirkland Farm has become THE artistic and culinary experience in upper Bucks County. The Thursday evening events begin with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the exquisite setting of this historic estate farm in Springtown, followed by a Preview performance of new work created at Silo by some of today's most exciting and innovative New York City based dance makers prior to their NYC and tour engagements. Following the performance, guests are invited to enjoy a buffet dinner and dessert poolside or in the 1789 bank barn. Additionally, on display in the barn and studios will be rotating displays of works by local artisans including paintings, ceramics, tapestries, etc, all available for purchase.
The dinner/dance performances are hosted by the Palisades Community Foundation in partnership with Robin Staff, artistic director of DanceNOW - www.dancenownyc.org and her husband Marty Staff, of Kirkland Farm. Robin created the not-for-profit dance residency program, Silo at Kirkland, in 2000 providing 350 + dance companies and independent artists with free rehearsal space to create new work and a temporary escape from the pressures of city life for these urban artists and bringing the best of the best in dance to Bucks County.
The Silo Dance Series offers area residents the opportunity to experience first-hand the vast landscape of dance styles, talent and innovation that thrives in New York City. Silo website
