PCF’s biggest fundraiser of the year is our Annual Auction, organized by our Constellation Committee every Fall. For the first three years the auction was a Silent Auction. Items are donated and set out on tables and auction attendees fill out a bid form with their bid amount. The highest bid written down on the form at the end of the evening is the winner of that particular item. Auctions like these allow for lots of socializing and we whole-heartedly believe socializing is one of the cornerstones of volunteer work.
In 2006, our auction was held at the Gardenville Hotel and attendance was high with guests from all over, including NYC and Philadelphia. We did something a little different: we added a live auction to the silent auction. We had hundreds of items on the block, ranging from gift certificates to some of Bucks County’s finest restaurants, week-long getaways, a trip to Washington, DC as the guest of one of Bucks County’s Congressmen, 12-months of flowers, bikes, household items, and much more. The live auction added loads of excitement to our social event and we plan to expand the live portion of the event next year.
