The Palisades Community Foundation Mission

The Palisades Community Foundation is dedicated to the wellness, education and cultural enrichment of the youth and community of the five-township Palisades area.

We are located in upper Bucks County, PA approximately 90 minutes from NYC and 75 minutes from Center City, Philadelphia. Our Blue Ribbon school district supports five townships: Springfield, Tinicum, Nockamixon, Bridgeton, and Durham Townships.

The History of The Palisades Community Foundation

Our organization began in 1996 as The Jolly Roger Society. A group of six members of the community, visionaries actually, felt that the Walter T. Rohrer Stadium was in need of outdoor lighting. Lights would enable night games which would enable parents who worked during the day to come and watch their children participate in various field sports, musical performances, and other community activities.

And so a strong movement took hold. Within months of the first meeting of the Jolly Rogers, the stadium was lit for the first time and fans watched excitedly as Palisades Soccer was played under the lights. Two days later, the Palisades Football made its evening debut to a record crowd. The month was September 1996.

In ten short years, the organization which changed its name to The Palisades Community Foundation has completed an impressive list of community-focused projects:

• Stadium Lights for Walter T. Rohrer Stadium
• For new Tennis Courts, enabling Palisades to re-instate the sport
• Renovation of outdoor Basketball Courts
• Visitors Bleachers
• Ticket Book at stadium entrance

Our most ambitious project to-date has been the All-Weather Track which was installed in August 2006.

PCF is in the midst of satisfying our pledge of $250,000 toward the costs of the new track.

As we embark on our next 10 years, the Board of Directors and Membership of the Palisades Community Foundation is poised to continue to improve the Palisades Experience!
